What is important to me:

I was blessed with growing up in a family of CPAs and then I married one - I know, seriously!  My husband, Glenn, and I joined my parents in 1984 to form the CPA firm, Green & Fillingim, PC. You might think that we are rather boring but fortunately that is far from the many laughs and fun that we have had over the past years. Glenn & I have been fortunate to raise our 3 children in the small West Texas community of Big Spring, TX. Throughout these many years, we have served on many non-profit boards and have been blessed with lots of community & church adventures. Our clientele mirrors our own, lots of small family run businesses from farmers, rancher, professional services, retail sales and royalty owners. 

I believe that small steps can change your family legacy.  Jerry Rice says, “Today I will do what others WON’T so that tomorrow I can accomplish what others CAN’T.”  My children still remember their crazy Mom that pounded on her calculator in our home office as they tried to drift off to sleep and the Mom that filled the freezer with $.99 chicken because that was what was on sale that week.  But they also remember all the fun we had on our vacations that were made possible for the pennies and dimes that we saved up to go fishing in the mountains or playing in the beach waves. 

You will notice I talk about “we” and “us” a lot because my husband and my family are the center of my WHY.  Working as CFP® has given me a vehicle to pour back into my clients lives things that I have been taught or have learned along the way.  Hopefully, my clients have better lives because of the planning and work that we have done along this road of life.  Warren Buffet says, “Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.”  Let’s make some small changes today so your tomorrow will not be the same.
